To get people excited about traveling in a bad economy, we decided to let people vote on where the Travelocity Roaming Gnome should take a trip. And social media was the obvious way to execute it. Each week people voted between two or three destinations. Through the Gnome's posts and tweets, Facebook and Twitter users could follow all the Gnome's adventures at every winning destination. It was a lot of fun traveling around the country with the Gnome.
